Bodegas Paco Garcia is an R&D&I (Innovation Research Development) project begun in 2008 at the hands of Juan Bautista García.
After working for more than 6 years in the family winery (founded in 2001), Juan Bautista wondered about the reasons behind the generational decline in wine consumption. Since then, his only obsession has been to work hard in the winery and on the field to discover which path he had to follow to reach his goal.
Finding a likeable, attractive wine that would allow consumers to enjoy it, that he would like and that would allow him to make a living from his passion, grape growing and winemaking
The idea was clear, to make something different, something set apart, more modern, fruity, flavoursome wines with an eye-catching image and, above all, that would really please today’s youth. That is, to bring the wine to new generations and to non-users, and that, at the same time, it would allow those who are already introduced into the world of wine to enjoy this wine, with a clear idea in mind to enjoy the world of wine.
WHY THE HANDPRINT??
The image had to represent family work, craftsmanship, the strength of the hand of man in the field and in winemaking. The hand of the label is the handprint of Paco García, founder and soul of the winery.
Tempranillo from a single vineyard, with vines of an average age of 30 years, planted at 400m of altitude, only 600 bottles released.
The wine Paco Garcia Pucheros de Barro is a red wine from Rioja vineyards located in the area of Rioja municipality of Murillo Leza river, a region of terroirs with old vineyards, between olive and almond trees and a Mediterranean influence.
The soil is of poor soils, with vines that provide high-quality grapes for wines with lots of fruit, freshness and balance. In its preparation, Juan Bautista García, the winemaker and owner, carries out the process of ageing this wine in clay amphoras, which give the wine its name. With this method of ageing in vases or clay amphoras, it achieves the micro-oxygenation of wine without the influence of wood. It came with greater maturity and natural balance, more than just a wine in a different bottle.
