Errazuriz KAI Carmenere 2015

I love the chill October days and the shedding of leaves from the deciduous trees. My tips for staying warm while it’s cold outside are to build a campfire and open a great bottle of wine, today my choice is KAI Carmenere 2015, produced by Errazuriz.

The grapes for KAI were selected from the best plots of Max V vineyards. 2015 was defined by an exceptional good growing season from beginning to end. Warm and dry conditions created wonderfully healthy wines resulting in ripe grapes for this very attractive year.

KAI
🌍 Aconcagua Valley, Chile🍇 95% Carmenere and 5% Syrah. 22 months in French oak, 70% new.

Very deep purple-red colour.  Clean and very powerful aromas of black fruits, black leaf tea, roasted green pepper, black pepper and graphite.  Complexe and expressive wine with flavours of blueberries, black pepper and roasted coffee beans. Bright acidity with depth and velvety tannins, very elegant with a long ageing potential.
