Domaine des Perdrix

Let’s head to Burgundy today with a really interesting producer @domainedesperdrix . This pinot noir is produced under the Bourgogne generic appellation and for a producer of this level the price-quality ratio is unbeatable.

To preserve their entirety, grapes are harvested by hand. 4 to 6 days of cold maceration before starting the alcoholic fermentation. After maceration, free and press wines are separated for aging. 20% of the cuvée is aged in traditional Burgundian 228 liters barrels (only French oak) for 12 months with only 10% new.

Medium ruby red. The nose is filled with red fruit aromas of strawberries and cherries and a hint of mushrooms  which integrate harmonically with pleasant touches of sweet spices of oak . On the palate the wine is juicy and has a fresh acidity.  Red fruits aromas are leading to silky tannins with a good finish.

Thanks to @lbvinternational for the discovery.
